The second in our “Introducing...” series is sixteen-year-old Cara Mitchell.
Cara introduces her enchanting voice to the UK music scene through her debut EP, Have You Ever Wondered, released on 23rd September 2012 via AGP.
It has to be said we first found out about Cara about a year ago through the fine North East of Scotland music blog Flares n Seagulls. Hailing from Aberdeen the teenager has already created quite an impression with her unique and almost flawless voice that has earned her support slots with the likes of Gemma Hayes, Juan Zelada, Stephen Fretwell, Pearl & The Puppets, Jonah Matranga (Far, New End Original, Onelinedrawing) and Inverness singer songwriter James Mackenzie.
Cara delivers a bucketful of folk-pop charm on her debut EP and it is refreshingly stripped back allowing her pure vocals to shine through. Have You Ever Wondered is a collection of four great tracks of melodic acoustic folk-pop; it’s not breaking new ground and it’s not something we haven’t heard before but it’s nice to hear it from a new voice which makes it all the more enjoyable.
She recently completed her first mini tour and is planning a run of UK dates in support of her debut four track EP. She will be joined on all of the dates below by the wonderful Esperi. Now we have featured Esperi several times on our podcast and all we can say is you really need to see him live. And, with Cara on the same bill it has all the makings of a glorious tour.
